The Rules of the Art
"Learn the rules like a professional so you can break them like an artist", Pablo Picasso
Feel free to break any of these rules like an artist. They're just starting points & ideas. Our process is hand-sewn, no scissors..so if you want to redesign later, you can.
SHIRT UPGRADES
Arm Size (The Bicep Taper)

The Rule: Sleeves should gently hug your bicep, never flare out like a bell.
The Look: Instantly makes your arms look larger and more athletic, even if you don't lift.
Your Move: Pin the excess fabric under the arm, or use our flat-lay method below.
Reference Measurement: Lay the baggy shirt flat. Lay your best-fitting, "template" shirt directly on top of it, aligning the shoulder seams. Place any standard credit card next to the sleeve stack and snap a photo. We use the standard credit card (exactly 3 1/4 inch) as a digital scale to calculate the exact delta and engineer the perfect taper.
Shirt Waist (The V-Taper)

The Rule: Eliminate the boxy midsection. The fabric should taper down your torso.
The Look: Kills the "muffin top" over your belt and creates a lean, custom V-shape.
Your Move: Show us the excess fabric ballooning at your sides.
Reference Measurement: Lay the baggy shirt flat. Lay your favorite-fitting, V-taper shirt directly on top of it. Place a credit card directly next to the waistline stack and snap a photo. We'll handle the geometry to match your favorite shirt.
Sleeve Length (The Cuff Strike)

The Rule: Short sleeves hit mid-bicep. Long sleeves end exactly at the wrist bone.
The Look: Sharp, proportionate, and put-together. No more looking like you're wearing your dad's clothes.
Your Move: Tell us exactly where the sleeve needs to stop.
Reference Measurement: With the shirt on, arms at side take a picture including the credit card laying flat against the sleeve and body and snap a photo. We'll calculate the exact amount to hem.
PANTS UPGRADE
Pant Length (The Clean Hem/No-Break

The Rule: Your pants should drape cleanly down to your shoe without puddling around your ankles.
The Look: Makes you look taller, sharper, and completely elevates your footwear.
Your Move: Fold or pin the pant leg up to where you want the hem to sit.
Reference Measurement: With the pants on and folded where you want it, place a credit card next to the folded ankle hem and snap a photo. We'll stitch a permanent, clean edge.
Waist Size (The Flush Waist)

The Rule: The waistband should sit perfectly flush against your lower back. No gaps, no choking it with a belt.
The Look: A sleek, custom-trouser foundation that stays perfectly in place.
Your Move: Pinch the awkward gap at the back of your waistband.
Reference Measurement: Give us your waist template. Lay the baggy pants flat. Lay your best-fitting "template" pants directly on top, aligning the center seams. Place any standard credit card directly next to the rear waistband stack and snap a photo looking straight down. We use the card as a digital scale to calculate the precise geometric difference and take them in to match your favorite pair perfectly.
